Fat guitars
What is it about a great guitar solo, some fat, grinding riffs and face melting licks that just get you going? Man I don’t know exactly either, but it’s better than coffee! When I got in to work this morning I was all but dead, after 2 rather large caffeine injects. I started up a little Metallica, listened to some live solo’s from Kirk and some pounding tunes for the whole gang and now I’m ready to face the day!
Braille vs. reading visually
Google is a great site. Without it I would not have known that today is Louis Braille’s birthday.
Of course that sparked the debate in our office of which reading method is faster. I believe that someone reading Braille will read with comparable speed to a person reading visually. Some, or at least one, of my coworkers disagrees and believes that Braille readers must be slower due to the fact that they need to scan the entire word with their fingers.
Of course I believe that the Grade 2 Braille transcription must lean the argument towards my side of the fence, but I have been unable to find anything supporting either position. If you know of some resources, please let me know by leaving a comment!
Happy New Year!
2005 is in the books, 2006 is upon us. I suppose that I should start blogging again.
I hope your holiday season was a good one. Mine was very nice, thank you for asking. Now it’s time to get back to work, which there is plenty of these days. Things are going strong and I’m sure I’ll be pretty busy. I’ll try to take some time every day to let you know about some of the new things going on both in my life, and around the world. There’s always plenty of interesting things to keep us entertained.
Ciao for now!
